Busy, Busy, Busy!

So, you may be wondering if I’ve fallen off the face of the planet? Well … sort of. I’ve fallen into the world of Full Time Work. Yes, gone are my beloved 4-hour work days. And sometimes, I’ll admit it, I do miss them and the life of flexibility of time that they afforded me. However, despite the loss of my beloved free time, I am finding my new career role to be very challenging and rewarding, and I’m excited about all the possibilities the future holds.

South by Southwest LogoEspecially exciting is the near future … Friday, to be specific. Why? Because I am going to South By Southwest! YES!! I am so completely excited about this, my first year at this much touted conference. If you are going, please feel free to come say hello! If you would like to stalk me, I’m trying to make that easy on you by providing my itinerary in the form of a lovely Excel spreadsheet.

Upon my return, I WILL find a way to fit blogging into my hectic life again. One thing that I have really missed sharing with you all is my growing loathing for IE7 and the new depth of hell it has plunged me into! But that’s a story for another day. Other stories for other days are:

  • New tricks for IE7
  • An awesome Basecamp widget
  • Projecting design time based on a scale from simple/corporate to beautiful/artistic
  • Projecting coding time based on a similar scale as above
  • Managing client expectations
  • Unveiling some cool new designs
  • And many, many thoughts on how to grow a small company …

Please stay tuned … I promise to be back! And if you have a chance, please do buy me a drink in Austin. ;~)

Oh no… here I thought IE7 was finally improving on things, but when I hear you describe it as a “new depth of hell” it gets me a bit worried. Something tells me I’ll be appreciating the “New tricks for IE7″ post when it comes around.

Have fun at SXSW! Wish I were going!

I’m jealous! I went to SXSW last year and absolutely loved it. Scheduling conflicts this year meakes it impossible. I hope to return next year.

Have a great time and go to all of the meetups and parties at night, they are well worth it for all the fantastic people you meet.
