How to Make PSD Files Always Open in Photoshop, Not Preview

For my first installment of “I discover, you discover” this one is hot off the presses of about an hour ago.

screenshot of get infoOK, so it’s a small annoyance but one that irks me nonetheless. Whenever I go to open a .psd file on my Mac I always have to right-click and then choose “Open With” and then choose Photoshop. I’d simply prefer to have .psd files always open in Photoshop. I poked around a bit and figured out how to do it.

On any .psd file, right-click and then choose “Get Info” then look for the area where it says “Open With:” and choose Photoshop from the drop down. Next click “Change All” then hit “OK” at the dialog box.
