Welcome to Sheriar Designs!
I am proud to announce that I have at last joined the ranks of the bloggers!
Now, with this tool in hand, my plan will be to post amazing insights into css, xhtml, and design … eventually being recognized by zines the likes of A List Apart and thereby becoming a published author, slowly ascending the ranks of the web standards elite like, well, you know who they are! Then, I will use my newfound celebrity to amass an enormous fortune, eventually taking over the world. Mwa haa haaa haaa!!!!
Ok, so maybe not. At least not yet. But a girl can dream, can’t she? ;o)
Seriously, I’ve been meaning to start a blog for some time now. Why did it take so long? Several reasons, chief among them being:
- Fear of Inadequacy – I was overwhelmed and intimidated by all the various blogging software. Yes, even WordPress. Obviously, it’s pretty easy out-of-the-box stuff if you are content to go with one or their themes, but it you want your blog to look exactly like your website well then … constructing a theme from scratch is not exactly a walk in the park!
- Lack of Time – I was afraid that either I wouldn’t have time to keep up with a blog, or else I would let other responsibilities (like actual paying work) fall by the wayside as I blogged my little heart out.
Well, I’m trying to get over these obstacles. I hope I can live up to my own hopes and dreams for my blog. It would help if all my friends would post lots of comments to make me look more popular than I really am until I become so truly popular that I’ve forgotten about all you little people.
Delusions of grandeur, anyone?

Kudos for facing down your fear of inadequacy! You’ve inspired me to face my own fear of posting my first comment. This is a big milestone!! Let’s celebrate :D

If I know anyone with real blogging potential it’s you. You have a gift for breathing life and fun into any subject matter, however geeky. So…slog on with the web design and blog on with what you learn.
P.S. The Energy Muse site came out beautifully!

Mani,
Not into blogging, but wanted to just look at your website as you suggested in your announcement. It looks very, very nice and easy to look at. Good luck.

Mani –
I love this blog! In fact, so much that I’m wondering if there’s a way to be notified when you make new posts? Or is that just stalkerish?! Anyway, keep up the “case studies” – they are SOOOO helpful! Now I can at least *try* to troubleshoot as well as you do!

Hi.. cool blog.. I was wondering if you would consider allowing me to add your blog feed to my news section on my webmaster website . I realise that not all of your posts are strictly webmaster related but ive written a script to only show posts containing certain keywords so theres no need to worry. Anyway, like i said.. cool blog.. some interesting stuff.. thanks
